About this Costume
Construction Details:
The undershirt is made of a thin shirt-weight cotton, and the white shirt is made of a heavy stretch poly/cotton - same fabric that I used on my Kagero costume, just in white. I used satin bias tape to trim everything. The purple fabric was custom dyed to give it the grey tone. The bootpants were made from a legging pattern I had - I just enlongated them at the bottoms and punched a hole for the heel of my shoe to go through. I made a template for the diamonds down the side and my friend Han airbrushed them on for me. My soul gem was made by the very talented Zal (she made them for our entire group! Props to her and her resin-and-brass skills).
Personal Thoughts:
What is there really to say about this costume? Making these with everyone was quite an experience! Homura has the most screwed up "school uniform" costume I have ever seen. It looks easy... until you start making it. Figuring out how to do the collar on her black shirt was a bit rough because I originally didn't want to put a seam in it... but that wasn't happening. Oh the advantages of having a dressform.
