Construction Details:

What I thought it was mostly a closet costume ended up with a couple of though spots: boots were not completely accurate because I'm dumb and I realized I couldn't make boot covers that complicated in just a couple of days (they have a frontal zip and are reversible... I hope I can do them someday though). My sewing machine didn't want to cooperate with the fabric when I made the belt loops for the pants, which were bought, so I sewn and added them by hand. I made the belt and buckle myself without forgetting that little star, modified an old shirt (bias tape, pocket, etc.). Her sweater was a little bit more complicated: I bought a white one with the highest percentage of cotton I could find, but the small amount of polyester in it made the brown dye look horrible, so I ended up painting it with fabric paint an a brush. It took me 3/4 days and it doesn't look flawless from up close, but I'm afraid it's the best I could do ;_; Cuffs and lower hem were cut prior to dying (I removed the front zip and pocket as well), I painted the black line on them with fabric paint and were sewn again after applying the brown paint. The little belts on her arms were made in a few minutes, and really helped making her sweater stay slightly off as she wears it. The red tie was bought as well.

Personal Thoughts:

If you ask me which is my favourite 2011 anime, I'd tell you that Steins;Gate and Madoka Magica are tied on my number one. I planned two cosplays for the biggest convention in my country, but I just HAD to make room for Kurisu since she's just awesome and I'm really obsessed with her, Okabe, the series and OkabexKurisu, and it's not a figure of speech. My boyfriend was going to be the best Okarin of the entire con and I love him so much for that and for being so in character :*

Overall, it's a fun and comfortable cosplay, but a little bit more difficult than I imagined (mainly because I wanted everything to look as good and perfect as possible since it's supposed to be "normal clothing" after all, even if it doesn't look like it ^^u). But the quality time I spent with my MAD SCIENTIST, my awesome "baito senshi" and my little cute Mayushii really paid off :_3 (and we even had an unexpected and awesome Daru!). Styling Notes

I straightened and revamped my old Mikuru wig (I know CHRISTINA's hair is longer, but I couldn't afford a new one, plus I love the color anyway and it was more comfortable this way).
