About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
My Sam costume was made from a one-piece animal mascot pattern. I attached running shoes to the bottom of the one-piece for traction. The mask that I made last year looked really bad because I overthought it. This year I made a structure from paper mache and a blow-up beach ball. The shape was perfect for Sam! My mother helped me shape the head and attach the button and stitch details so I got proper spacing on the burlap. It's not 100% accurate, but I had a lot of fun with the design. :3 My mother also made me my nifty burlap sack.
I wore this on Halloween 2011 and just hung out in the yard surrounded by jack-o-lanterns. I apparently scared quite a few kids. XD A lot of people thought I was either an alien or a scarecrow. I guess Trick 'r Treat is a little too mature for the kiddies. lol
The top of my lollipop was made by 1234models on eBay. I painted the stick. - Personal Thoughts:
- It's been my dream for the last couple of years since I watched Trick 'r Treat to Cosplay Sam and do a shoot in which I'm surrounded by jack-o-lanterns. Last year when I debuted my Sam costume my costume was too rushed and there wasn't time for a shoot so this year I was pumped for a Halloween party. Stillvisions let me co-host the party at his house and a crew of about 15 people took 7 hours to gut and carve 32 pumpkins for this shoot. Some pumpkins were scary and others were comical and meme based. We went to town with it and had a blast!
