About this Costume

Bodice: I'm not sure what the main fabric is but it has a slight nylon feeling. I got it from Joann's clearance section about 2 years ago. It actually used the wrong side of the fabric. xD Pattern was an old vogue vintage wedding dress, but had to be modified since it was way too big. I just mainly used it for the pattern in the front. It has bonig all the way around, and steel boning at the back with the lacings so it doesn't bunch. The sleeves are lt blue spandex so they would be tight fitting. The skirt points are a hand drafted pattern and made out of light blue casa satin with decorbond for interfacing. The collar is white foamie covered in white casa satin and sewn to the top. There are strips of pastel blue rhinestones on the top and bottom of the corset. It was actually a disney licensed trim I found at Joanns.
Skirt: is just a large circle skirt made out of cornflower casa satin with a zipper closure.
Crown and Necklace: Made of foamie with layers of gesso paint and varnish. Gems were added to the crown and sewn to the wig. A hook and eye closes the necklace. - Personal Thoughts:
- This has always been a dream outfit to make. I've always admired Aurora's blue dress. It's been at least 2 years in the making with a lot of stuff putting it on hold. But it's finally done and I'm so happy about the way it came out.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- It was a heat resistant wig, so I parted the bangs into sections, curled the middle piece using a curling iron, and then trimmed the sides with a razor, curling them inwards. The back was left as is.
