About this Costume
Construction Details:
I love the Disgaea series and I'm happy to have finally made this!

One thing I wanted to change was the fluffy bit on the hem of the dress. In my reference pictures it looks like the ruffles lay flat on the ground. I could tell that it would be impossible to move in that, so I moved the ruffles to mid-calf so I could easily move.

Dress is a stretch velour. Neckline has an accordion fringe trim with a feather boa. The puffy hem is lined with interfaced satin and 6 yards of petticoat netting. The red strips are stiffened with interfacing and 3 layers of manila folders. Cuffs are Styrofoam covered in plaster and paint.
Personal Thoughts:
It can be kind of hard to find cosplay ideas for those of us who are "well-rounded". So when I was trying to find an idea for a Halloween costume, I was excited to work with Disgaea's cleric design.

This costume took me a month from the point that I decided I wanted to make it to when I took photos. I was only able to work on it about 30 minutes a night and a couple hours on the weekend. Overall, I am happy with the results. It's relatively easy to move in and suitably warm for the fall.
