Construction Details:

As soon as I saw this design, I knew I had to do it; the sexy librarian look with the glasses, the lipstick color that I wear daily (Clinique lipstick in Sugared Maple), the purple eyeshadow, long hair, and teal nails, ding ding, we have a winner!

This is a pretty easy costume, I used black pants I already had, black heels I had, bought a turtleneck from Goodwill and made it smaller, cut off the sleeves, painted buttons with nail polish, sewed them on, made a waist cincher out of black suiting fabric, and glued strips of really thin ribbon onto it. The waist part slips over my head and zips up in the back, and it's pretty tight, but likes to ride up haha. I had like 3 different ways to do the waist cincher, and in the end I did my first choice option...that's always what happens. I RAN OUT OF RIBBON for the back, so in the pics from Yaoi con I only have teal stripes down the front and sides. I can't believe it took 12 yards to just cover that much... -___- The belt is my one point of buttfrustration (inside joke from Yaoi con lol). I used a belt I had forever, and made craft foam belt buckle things because real Navaho concho belt buckles with turquoise parts are a bit too pricey for me to justify buying them, and painted the craft foam with silver paint and teal nailpolish. The glasses were $2 Joanns glasses that I cut the top of the glasses off of, and glued the lenses back in. I really enjoyed cosplaying from Catherine with Hikaru Jan as Catherine, Hybridtwist as Vincent, and Sadaton (hell yes we had a Johnny), and we need to do more shoots for this awesome game. :D

*edit for ALA 2012. I got more ribbon and glued it to the back of the waist cincher, colored my wig a bit more with markers, and made a completely new belt out of cardstock, silver paint, model magic for the stones, and nail polish to paint the stones. The pants are also different since I forgot mine at home so I borrowed Chiyann's pleather pants XD New heels too!

Personal Thoughts:

This outfit is awesome. It's conservative, and yet still hot at the same time. XD once again it proves that I like cosplaying characters with long hair.

Styling Notes

I trimmed the bangs on the wig from Ayanamisatoru, and streaked it with some artist alcohol based markers, but I'm still not fully satisfied with the color yet, so I'm going to go in again with more markers and tint the wig a darker ash blonde with some streaks of pink/gray. Katherine's hair color keeps changing from reference to reference in the game. Next time I think I'll tape the side bangs to my face next time, and hairspray the parts by my ears.
