Construction Details:

-For the first time I stooped to buying a costume from someone else orz. I got both Tear and Natalia from Cosplaymagic, and altered them; I really liked their construction, they did a better job on the bias tape corners than I ever could, and I really liked their color choices. The only problem was that I'm apparently much taller than the average person who buys the Tear costume, because it was too short, especially on the side panels. To try to offset this, I took out the side panels and moved the down, and replaced the holes in the sides with fabric scavenged from the gloves, which were too big. It barely worked orz. The throwing dagger was made by my sister out of craft foam and wire.

Personal Thoughts:

Got this together for the Tales of the Abyss gathering to promote the DVD release at NYAF/NYCC! I have always planned on making a TotA outfit, and have had Jade fabric holed away for like 4 years. orz I still plan on Jade! But there wouldn't have been time to finish Jade for NYAF, and I really liked what I saw of the colors and construction on the Tear and Natalia that Cosplaymagic had. I took a chance on it and was pretty happy with what we received. :)
