About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The undershirt/sweater, jeans and shoes were purchased but modified. I had to make the undershirt smaller (kinda hard to tell) and I had to sew blue ribbon onto the neckline of the sweater. Sounds easy enough, but the texture in the sweater made this quite difficult! It was also hard to make the ribbons meet at the bottom of the V of the neckline. The Millennium Ring was the hardest part of this costume! It was made out of a purse hoop, clay, craft foam, eye hooks, model magic, blood, sweat, and tears. The spikes were made out of clay and attached to the main right with eye hooks. The triangle in the middle was made out of craft foam, painted with watered-down glue over and over again (to keep it from soaking in the paint) and then Rub n' buffed. Everything was held together by thin pieces of wire, a twist tie here and there, and glue The eye was made with model magic. Everything was then Rub n' buffed to make it golden.

- Styling Notes
- This is the first wig I've ever styled. The wig originally was very long and curly on the bottom. I straitened it, cut it, and made wefts out of the excess hair. I sewed the wefts in for volume. There were a few towards the top of the wig and one where the bangs are. I wanted this wig to be very fluffy and poofy. A natural look for Bakura's weird hair. I layered and layered and layered to make the wig kindof spiky on it's own. I then grouped some of the layers and hairsprayed them so that they clumped together. I was very happy with how this wig came out. I'm not an experienced wig stylist at all so I was very proud of my first job!
