Construction Details:

Royal velvet for the top, with Casa Satin for the sleeves. The skirt is Casa Sparkle Satin with a layer of thin cotton below it and some pretty lace sewed to that which I found in the dollar bin at Jo-Anns. The gold trim was sewn as is to the top and sleeves. The headband was a darker red which I covered in the same fabric as the sleeves and hand made the bow. The white collar is craft foam stuffed inside thick, white cotton fabric. The cape is black and red crushed velvet with a pretty gold clasp that I added for my own, personal touch. The shoes were bought online and I made the bows for them.

Personal Thoughts:

Worn for a Princess group at Dragon*Con 2011. When the group fell through, I wore my costume anyway (with pride because I am so very, very thrilled with how it came out). I had a fake apple, but more people enjoyed the fact that I had a bird with me instead (a black-capped chickadee). The costume was fun to wear and I hope to get some outside shots soon.
