About this Costume
Construction Details:
OH HAI.

Velvet was a project of love and devotion. The hood was drafted in a 3 piece patter so I didn't have to have a seam down to very top. It has horsehair in the 'hem' so to speak to help the hood hold it's shape. The top is a knit dolman with a keyhole back. The ruffles are silk organza.

The sleeves were a fun process of experimentation. I made 3 patterns, the lining, the gathered sleeve, and the window pane pieces. The gathered sleeve and pane pieces are flatted with petticoat net to keep everything puffy.

The skirt is a shaped collar canvas waistband with lightweight sew-in boning. Then two pieces of silk taffeta is draped on the bias to create the gathers and draping across the front. The skirt is a 1/2 circle skirt flatted with petticoat net and finished with horsehair to create a floating effect.

All the stars are wood that I painted. The beads are plastic resin so they are super lightweight.

PHEW.
Personal Thoughts:
Only Kevin and Cristine can get me to wear Anime stuff to Dragon*Con. THAT IS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU TWO.

Also yay Odin Sphere.
