Construction Details:

This costume was deceptively easy. Sailor suit collars involve a lot more work than I realized, but once I found a pattern it was pretty smooth sailing. I used a thick green poplin for both the collar and the skirt, and a white blouse from H&M that I altered.

Styling Notes

I had a lot of fun trying to style this wig. I started out with the Epic Cosplay 40", then tied some of the top layers back to create Rei's poofy pony tail in the back. I cut the bangs, added some styling gel, and voila! Rei's bangs. The antenna were easier than I expected. I somewhat followed an ahoge tutorial that involved attaching hair to a pipe cleaner of a similar color to the wig fiber. Then, I wrapped some wire around the fibers to keep everything together. Once it stood up by itself, I used some styling glue to shape the rest of the antenna bangs together.
