Construction Details:

Green gi is a poly cotton while black shirt is a light weighted poplin. The gloves are a costume leather picked from the remnants at Joann's and strengthened with black denim. The pants are made out of the same fabric but I'm going to be using my Kaito pants from now on (or make a new pair of pants,...(Read More) what a concept lol). The coat is made with dull satin as the lining and the wrong side of a fake silk for the right side (how ironic). The fish were painted/stamped on by hand. I opted for a bit more abstract in my painting, but I think the effect was the same. The band is from my eastern Okita cosplay and is made from two types of white knit. The shoes were Funtasma pirate boots that were randomly found in my closet and had the flaps cut off. Swords were bought from Chinatown, but a lot of refurbishing went into them.

Personal Thoughts:

WHY WAS THIS EASIER TO MAKE THAN EASTERN. HNGH. I originally wanted to make Western but I don't exactly know if I LOVE this design anymore. I really struggled to make the coat because the pattern was not what I wanted at all and a lot of editing, draping, tailoring, and all that jazz went into it multiple times. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but not in heat haha. I do love the hand-painting though and all I need are a few tucks here and there (and a center back incision cough) and it'll be perfect :]
And for the record, I still have the biggest character/design crush on Okita. Favorite Hakuouki boy ever (nexttoSanosukeffff)
