About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I used brown and red suiting for the entire thing with some stretchy golden-yellow stuff for the trim and waist tie. I had to hand-stitch the trim on the tunic because the bias got too thick. I had my first adventure making boot covers, and they came out pretty ghetto, so I'm probably just going to make them again before the next time I wear it--they also got super muddy.
I don't want to make a prop page for them, but my dad helped me carve his swords out of some wood we had lying around. The blade is one piece and it had a longer one that extended down into the hilt (PVC pipes he had lying around that he'd fashioned into a trident, complete with the end caps, which I left on for the base of the hilt), and we slipped the ovular part on and glued cork on either side of the extension of the blade so that it'd stay together. Then I painted them!
Then I did scar makeup and it was a nuissance. The REAL challenge of this costume! - Personal Thoughts:
- Construction wise, this costume was really simple and basic. The boot covers I botched horribly because I made a stupid mistake, but the costume itself was just fine. I had trouble with the scar, but most of the gross stuff I covered with the shaggy bangs, ahaha
