Construction Details:

Pants sewn from twill, shirt and vest from linen, and jacket and cloak from wool. Details on the shirt and jacket were hand-sewn and the vest was also tea-stained. Belt was constructed from pieces of another belt and a separate buckle. Backpack and bag were also constructed by me from cotton, and I...(Read More) added Sam's elven rope to it along with his water pouch, pans and blanket. I tried to stay as close as possible to the original designs from the movie though I had to improvise a few parts due to my own limitations haha. The wig is a human-hair wig and was lightly styled by me. The ears are Weta originals and the elven brooch was also purchased.

Personal Thoughts:

Me and Scout have been talking about doing these outfits for a while now so I'm really really happy they finally happened. We both love Lord of the Rings so much and for me it's been a very important part of my life for a good long while now. I love a lot of the characters but Sam is one of the most important to me. He may not be the main character but he is certainly the hero and integral to the success of Frodo and the Fellowship. I was so humbled to finally get to cosplay him and I hope I did him even a little bit of justice. I had so much fun doing this costume and running around Central Park with Scout and our photographers. This cosplay was a very positive experience and I would do it all over again in a heart-beat. C:
