Construction Details:

This costume was made by Mlarad and myself. We worked on this costume for months. The headpiece was carefully crafted with collected flower pieces and some made by hand. We looked for matching pieces to the central purple color of the character's color palette based from the original artwork. The bowtie was sewn with invisible hand-stitches and glued the best quality gems we found at a shop in a fabric district in Los Angeles, CA.
nThe top was made with purple French velvet fabric also acquired at the Fabric District. The necklace and glove details were made from the same golden lace.
nCorset was made by mlarad and I painted golden details to it.
nThe dress skirt was the most difficult part since either of us had done a similar design in the past. We didn't let inexperience stop us and tackled this task. We used 10 yards of black Tulle fabric just on the skirt. It wasn't heavy at all since this fabric is thin. I enjoyed the construction of this costume and learned a lot from it.

Personal Thoughts:

I am mostly comfortable dressing up as certain character boy type. This character was out of my comfort zone but wanted to make something different. After all, we learn more from challenges than staying comfortable in a bubble. >:3 Turned out to be a really fun and interesting experience.
