About this Costume
Construction Details:
Gis are made from black broadcloth and burgundy classic cotton from same pattern. Pants are modified pattern and haori is a modified lounge wear pattern. Sarashi is simple cut cotton. The black gi's design was all hand-painted with a pattern (thanks to wolfdaemon for the template) and the chain on the burgundy gi is done by hand, as are the triangles on the haori. The tie is a knit waistband with ties attached to tie it. The headband is actually a piece of leather colored with black enamel paint over needle board. Swords are bought and modified with spraypaint.
Personal Thoughts:
OKITAAAAAAAAA. I have begun to fall heads over heels in LOVE with this character. His personality, looks, loyalty to his comrades and lady (ishipokitachizurusohardit'snotevenfunny.), and ultimately his death make him this fantastic character who I really admire and adore. THE HAND PAINTING IS FREAKING WORTH IT NOW THAT I LOOK AT IT. And finally, a garment that didn't have major issues during wear :]

The wig is from Ayanamisatoru, but the "ponytail" is made from a bunch of extensions stitched onto fishnet attached to a huge clip. The band is a piece of knit poked into the clip.
