About this Costume
Construction Details:
I took a few creative liberties with the design, just because it changes in every reference! I went for sort of a cross between the original promotional art for the first movie and the Face Character costume in Disney World. The fabric I used for the top and pants is crushed velvet that I painted with fabric spray paint, along with some hand-painting as well. The rhinestones are attached with hot glue. The sash is made from a suede fabric, and then I texturized it with paint markers to make it look like bark. Sort of. Haha! The shoes are stuffed covers built around ballet flats, and the shoe cuffs are made from leather.
Personal Thoughts:
This has been a dream cosplay of mine ever since I saw the first Tinkerbell movie, and I'm just ecstatic that it's finally done!! I love being a fairy, and I can't wait 'till we have our group together! The wig is probably my favorite part overall though, it's SO much fun to wear! And the wings!! Both CourtoonXIII and I got our wings from FaeryAzarelle (of "Fancy Fairy Wings and Things!").

Styling Notes
This wig was so much fun to style! A little tricky, but still fun. It's basically a Jeannie from Arda with the ponytail clip wrapped around the base ponytail to make a bun, and then the clip is braided. It's a little heavy but as long as I don't run too fast or bounce around wildly it stays perfectly in place! The only issue is that the braid likes to get really fuzzy- hopefully I can figure out a solution for that even if it means coating it with hairspray!
