About this Costume
Construction Details:
This is 95% and I have no good pics of it, and I wanted to upload decent pics to this costume, but what the hell :D It was a lot of work, and I`m really proud with how it looks n.n hopefully in the studio pics it`ll look even better! Leotard: Or as I call it, the mothership of bitchiness :P. The pattern was a t-shirt and underwear drawn together, and my advice would be to not make a very bold curve on the hips until you have it tried on, otherwise it will look very 90's swimwear LOL, and the cleavage is cut as you see in the pictures, with that curve so there's no folding of fabrics there :) I used a rubbery gray lycra for the gray panels, a brownish cotton saten or stretch gabardine for the brown panels and black lycra for the black panels, and I used a non-shiny ribbon for the black lines which i'm sorry to say dont know the name in English T_T Also, I put boning between the ribbon and the fabric, but that's optional. Goggles: The actual ones are for sale here http://www.spitcrazy.com/goggles.htm, but as I couldn't afford them I bought a pair from ebay at 3 dollars, made a brown cushion with extra space for the nose bridge and then sewed the lenses on top, and as they were chromed, I painted them with black metallic enamel to give them a more aged look. Boots: They're brown boots with brown zippers on the front and back of each, and the black part (this is still not done, those are just thigh highs :P) is a black fabric with a black zipper on the sides :) Shin Guards: These are actually elbow guards, and the model is the O'neal Azonic Rocker elbow guard (mostly out of stock everywhere, but maybe you can find them) which I also couldn't afford, so mine are a pair I found cheap here in Argentina n_n they look pretty close though :P Gauntlets: I made these from the same brown pleather I used for the belts and harness, just measure the width of your upper arm and your fist, and before sowing the gauntlet shut remember to put the brown ribbons first (the flecky things LOL cant explain it though i'm sure you understand xD), I used faux suede for that, and the studs are big metallic round studs i was very lucky to find, these are a worn-out gold color. Belts: No secret here, simply glued stripes of the brown pleather to make it thicker but it's really important to measure everything when you have it on your body cause they are all connected, so if one is a little loose... you know :P Harness: It's brown pleather over a thick pleather of another tone of brown i had, and I'm still missing the mp5k mags which, if I dont get some plastic copies, I might make from wood or smth.. Axe: The blade is cut from wood, sanded the edge and painted it with silver spray paint, then "aged" with black metallic enamel (like the goggles), the heart was cut by my grandfather, thank you!
