Construction Details:

I was inspired to create a cosplay of Riku after borrowing a friend's Riku costume for a convention. For this I bought the raw materials and developed it from scratch. The shirt has two layers, an inside layer of yellow fabric and the outer layer of black. Twill tape was used to add a white trim to smooth over the divide of colored fabric, and it is already an authentic feature of the cosplay. All snaps on the costume are fully functional and bias tape was used on the straps.

For the pants, I found a suitable pair in dark blue. There is an outer layer on the pants from the thigh to the ankle, for which royal blue fabric was used.

To accurately depict the disproportionate foot size, I chose men's size 11 sneakers and worked the fabric into the design. Indeed, the shoes can be awkward. Additionally, this cosplay took more of time than previously expected; my anticipated completing date was February 2011, but it was actually finished in May 2011.
