About this Costume

Pretty straight-forward construction, so not much to report here!
- Personal Thoughts:
- I had never seen Treasure Planet until about 5 years after it came out, but I remember the first time I watched it with some college friends in freshman year. I was really inspired and blown away from the film! After that I only saw it maybe once again until a few months ago when I got REALLY obsessed with it, watching the movie literally almost every day for a while there, ahah. And so, this cosplay was born. I always like the angsty boy characters, but Jim is more than that. You see how he changes once he finally finds the father figure he's longed for, and it drives him onto the right path to showing his full potential. It really is a powerful story-- thank you Robert Louis Stevenson for inspiring this film!
One of the best parts of this whole experience is finding all the other devoted Treasure Planet fans! This movie seriously doesn't get the appreciation it deserves, but it's great to see other fans exist and loves this movie just as much as I do!
I am SO GLAD I had the opportunity to have a photoshoot on the USS Constellation. The movie used a 70/30 rule as basis for the world there-- that is, 70% traditional-looking, 30% advanced technology. Thus, the ships were based on those from the 18th century, so this was the perfect place for a photoshoot! Just add some solar sails, and it's spot on!
P.S. So upset I forgot my earring for BOTH of my shoots... I am so dumb >.
