Construction Details:

This costume was FUN. Okay, so the fabric for the bodysuit is the "rough moleskin" from spandexworld.com in yellow. It's got just enough orangeyness to it to be pretty much the PERFECT color for Garnet's bodysuit! Plus it's nice and heavy, so it's not very see-through at all, AND it holds me in very nicely. xD The pattern was drafted using the old instructions from stretchy.org, which are pretty fabulous. The upper part of the bodysuit was draped and is interfaced, so it holds its shape pretty well. The "shirt" is not a shirt at all, simply sleeves and a front panel attached directly to the bodysuit, to avoid any edges showing through the spandex. The boots were an old pair I had laying around that were about the right shape... I covered them in red vinyl that's sewn directly to the boots themselves. The gloves were purchased off eBay. The rod is a wooden dowel and some styrofoam shapes covered in papier-mache. The necklace (made by my mom because, at the time, Sculpey and I were not speaking to each other...) is silver Sculpey and a crystal from eBay. I had a HECK of a time finding just the right crystal, but I found it! And now I've lost the link. Boo.

Styling Notes

This was a super-simple wig to style (my mom did most of the work heh). We basically put it in a loose ponytail, chopped off the extra length, and cut a few face-framing strands.
