About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Truth to be told, this costume was done to be part of a group with Straywind (Saki) and Jukebox (Annna). I was suppose to debut this at AN 2011, but due to cold weather conditions and rain it would have been silly to freeze in this. The hat and boa I bought from a halloween store, as well as the 2 swords. The fabric for the bikini was bought at a fabric store in Toronto called "Trendy Fabrics" this is almost exactley the floral print she has on her swimsuit, and the fabric was on clearance, how perfect :) The white fur trim on the top is just a white boa sewn onto the top. The boots are simply boot covers made from a micro suede that I already had on hand, I added the yellow ribbon to lace up at the back. The arm tattoo is a temp one I found at a dollar store, and the back tattoo was drawn on with sharpie by my friend Steph, she did an amazing job on it! The gloves and arm wrap were made of the same suede as the boots, as well as the leg harness. The 2 necklaces I made as well to look like hers. I added 2 western style looking belts that crisscross over the bikini bottoms. I made the costume to look like the one from the wii version of the game.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Never thought I'd end up wearing something like this as a costume lol. A few years back me and friend ReJecT001 were walking around at AN in the dealers room, and he spotted a statue of Aya, and said "think you'd ever cosplay as her?" and my reply was "when hell freezes over" I made this costume during the winter of 2010/2011 when we got a huge snow storm and cold snap; and he he just looked at me and said "well, I guess hell froze over" I gotta give props to IcePhoenix for doing this photoshoot, we got the first set of pics done at midnight, we waited for the full moon so we could get shots with that in the background. He even got into the pool with his camera to get shots of this! What a champ!
