This was a commission for a friend. I'm glad I got to do it, as I learned a lot. For my first odango wig, I am happy.

Styling Notes

Because the customer wanted a hybrid between child Chibiusa and teen Chibiusa, I decided to go a different route with this wig. It's not stubbed, for starters. The hair in the ponytail is part of the wig itself. I also didn't use the hot water method to straighten it, as it would have stripped the hair of all its oils and made it frizzy and brittle. Instead, I used an ionic straightener (not to be confused with your average hair straightener - that would melt the wig). I straightened the hair, pulled out the ponytails, worked out any last curls, redid the ponytails then affized the odangos. The odangos have a re-shaped foam core, and I glued the hair on it in a swirly fashion.
