About this Costume
Construction Details:
My blazer is a Burda Style pattern for a double-breasted jacket. The pattern was preeeetty bad though. Really confusing and the collar was not made very well. If I find a better pattern in the future, I may make another version of this jacket. The buttons on the jacket are 2" fabric-covered buttons. (That's right, Scanty and Kneesocks's buttons are so ridiculous that I had to MAKE them because nobody carries shank buttons that big or in plain ol' white. XD) I used M3830 for the skirt. This pattern was much easier by comparison, and it looks really good too. If you looking to make a pencil skirt, this pattern is pretty versatile.

The dress shirt is from Goodwill, tie is from eBay, and the shoes are from JCPenney. I mostly bought everything in pairs so that Risana and I would match exactly. The belts I made from fabric and foamies with some velcro to close them up. The armbands are just plain quilter's cotton, but the emblems were put together with Heat'n'Bond.

Some sfx stuff: The ears are unpainted ones from Aradani Studios that I painted with RMG paint in Red. I also got some crazy false eyelashes that looked like Scanty's. (They're one of my favorite parts of this costume.) Fangs are Scarecrow brand "subtle fangs" that I originally got for my Seras cosplay. The contacts are DollyEye in brown. They're more like a golden color rather than brown.

I painted my hands, wrists, face, and neck with Mehron paint in Red. It sponges on really evenly, but it took me about three hours to do it the first time I did this. Most of that time was waiting for it to dry though. The second time around, I used a hair dryer with a "cool" temperature setting to dry the paint. That makes things go MUCH faster. For my legs, I just used some red opaque tights from Sock Dreams.

My "head wings" are made out of foamies and jewelry wire. The wire sticks out of the wings and into a spiral so that I can just twist it in between my wig's wefts. Works pretty well!

The guns are made from rigid insulation foam. The pieces were cut out using my scroll saw then glued together with foam glue. There are some craft foam pieces on the sides. I put on a lot of layers of Mod Podge to seal it, primed it with grey spray paint primer, then painted it flat black with spray paint. The details are all in acrylic "Inca Gold" paint to match Risana's gold on her scythes.
Personal Thoughts:
I first made this for ACen 2011, and I've remade some of to improve it and to match my Kneesocks my closely. Risana and I entered into ACen 2012's Masquerade, which was a first for both of us, and we ended up winning "Best Group"!

We got to do a shoot recently with my awesome friend Angel, so I'm finally able to put up some nice pictures of this cosplay!

The Demon sisters are definitely my favorite from this series. I'm so glad I got to make and wear this with Risana. The craziness of the Masq and all the time put into getting into the costumes and makeup was very much worth it in the end. :D
