Construction Details:

This dress was the first thing I've ever sewn head-to-toe, and while it's not perfect (or even finished), I'm still damn happy with it. I used the bodice of Butterick B5440 (sans long sleeves) and view A of McCall's M4090 (I was originally doing a modified version of view B, but couldn't finish it in time for ANEXT; I think I like it better this way, though!) with what Fabric.com called "slipper" satin (letting the "wrong" side show to reduce shine) and satin ribbon for trim and the hairbows. As for future improvements, I need to figure out how to put boning in the top because the front kept folding down. orz;; I also need to add a waistband and zipper to the skirt (it was just pinned to the hoopskirt during ANEXT) and a zipper to the corset (which was pinned closed for ANEXT).
