Construction Details:

This dress was made using a slightly modified costume pattern (I can't even recall which one). The neck line and the sleeves were the most modified parts of the pattern. The fabric used was polyester shantung, chosen because it had a slight pattern on it and was still somewhat shimmery without being altogether shiny. The belt is just my simple SCA ring belt.

Personal Thoughts:

I love this costume. Little kids were scared of me, but older kids smiled when Michiko, dressed as Rapunzel, and I walked by. I did not like trying to make those sleeves, which ended up taking longer than the rest of the dress combined because of their odd little flare and their odd length.
