About this Costume
Construction Details:
All parts of the outfit that required sewing were done by me. This would include the top, fingerless gloves, obi, scroll, legging stuff, and boot cover. The outfit is fully lined. The white legging thing was interesting since it was basically half a pant (lol), and it's held up on the other side with elastic. The legging is made out of stretchy fabric and the stripes were painted on. All the little prop stuff was done by me as well (tape measure thing, notecards, pocketbook, etc).

I really like how my obi came out~ The "bow" was done like how one would make paper stars and was a separate piece that I tacked onto the obi! The obi closes in the back with some clasps. The zigzag design was hand painted onto the obi as well as the scroll weapon that I made for her.

I really wish I had made a giant book prop that would hang underneath the obi bow but I didn't have time to make it for AX. :( One day though...!
Personal Thoughts:
I am very happy with my Rita outfit in terms of construction, details, and overall appearance! This was the first video game character that made me realize that video games are usually superior in REFERENCE PICTURES (thank goodness) and DETAIL (ergh, no me gusta).

It sucks because most of my AX pictures had the tape measure missing (it was dropped in the hotel room but kind roomies returned it to me for when I took pictures with Dan) as well with the pocket book that goes around her neck (I totally forgot to put it on). So many rages when I found out about both respectively...

It was really fun posing as her, and I wish I wasn't so tired looking in some of the pictures because her attitude is so spunky and lively (unlike my tired looking self @_@).
