Construction Details:

I had a bunch of fun making this costume, actually. I altered a regular 8-piece waist-cincher pattern and make it drape over the back like the artist's depiction of her. Then I added spiral steel boning so it kept it's shape and kinda stuck me in there with this nice posture. The bolero is self-patterned and is the tiniest tiny-jacket I have ever made. It has piping and a kinda mandarin collar going on there with cotton lace at the ends of the sleeves. The dress bit I just kinda... cut and pinned and sewed and made it look the way it is and then made a full circle skirt and draped it about. The longer skirt I cut out of some material I had around and then pinned it on. UH... what else? Oh yeah! I made the entrancer/fascinator head piece thing of a buckram shape, milliner's wire to hold its form and then feathers and a fake rose and some taffeta and the same lace from on the dress I had left over. It just kind of sits on my head and is very delicately pinned on. Haha.
