About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
A good majority of this costume was made from scratch, the pattern being self made. I did have to buy some things for this costume, but they have also been edited.
This was a really rushed job since I am still schooling and Fanime always comes up during finals, so some of the seams and raw edges of the costume may be visible - hopefully not.
I decided to use this Ivory fabric that I had used from a school project since Catherine's outfit is actually ivory or off-white. (I ended up tearing up that project and used it for this costume) that I got for a really good price, and thankfully it was enough for this costume. Sadly I cannot correctly identify the fabric (neither could the store owner), but it has a subtle shine to it and is pretty slippery; I had some difficulty sewing with it.
I will probably remake this costume, because this was a really rushed job. Most definitely I will have to redo the top, because it ended up not as fitted as I would like and I had difficulty putting the pads in - this is something I will exclude during the remake (I am lacking in the upper area, so I am sorry that a girl needs a little boost). - Personal Thoughts:
- I had alot of fun with this cosplay. This is one that I will definitely stick with for awhile.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- I wanted to go with the Amphigory Innocent wig because there is a part already made into it and because Catherine has pigtails. I know alot of people just go with a long wig and cut it short, but I wanted it to be as authentic as possible.
My older sister styled the wig by following Starcat's Corkscrew/Spiral Wig Curl Tutorial.
It was her first attempt at this kind of styling, and I believe it turned out pretty well. We based the styling a bit more off of the Artbook Cover version of her hair, but we will probably fix the curls a bit to seperate them a bit more and to make it longer like the actual images.
Overall, I think she did an amazing job.
