Construction Details:

This was a simple, last minute costume for a photoshoot. Ariel is my favourite Disney princess and I hadn't done any princess costumes yet. I also had just received my Granmammare wig and it was perfect for Ariel. The top is a linen-look fabric from Joann. I bought too little, so the bottom half is actully a tuquoise rib knit. It turned out well though because there's no extra fabric to bunch up under the corset, and it never slides around! The corset is a jacquard suiting with a black canvas lining and cable ties as boning. It has both a zipper back and laces to keep it snug. I used a zipper so the back couldn't shift open and show the shirt underneath. The skirt is a basic gathered and slightly A-line skirt made from bridal satin. The bow is made from the same fabric and has cheap plastic boning in a channel around the top edge to keep it perky. When I wear pieces of this costume to Disneyworld, all I hear all day from cast members is "nice bow". I'm serious-- every single cast member within speaking distance pointed it out!

Styling Notes

I can't do any intense styling on this wig since it was purchased for a different character and I have to switch between the two. Also, the bangs are a little too short to swoop properly. A little hairspray and some pins or clips is as intense as it gets.
