Construction Details:

Outfit from the Reversal Jewel "Suddenly Shampoo" OVA episode. The colours change about 3 times in the same ep, so I chose the ones that would flatter me most.

Personal Thoughts:

I love Ranma 1/2!! I bought the base wig off another cosplayer, however I don't know what brand or style it was. She had hand dyed it from its original colour to a light purple/grey kind of mix. The wig was super thick!

When I got it, I cut the back into layers and used the cut off pieces to fill out and create the big bangs. The maiden locks were separated from the length of the wig, cut and stubbed with hot glue. I then made little 'tufts' of wig fiber that I glued back to the maiden locks. This got hidden by the bell ties.

The buns I got 2 smooth styrofoam ball halves. I picked the spots where I wanted them on the wig netting and then cut the wig hair very short in those spots. I hot glued the styrofoam to the wig head. I then scored the styrofoam and used acrylic paints to paint it the purple/blue colour of shampoo's hair. I then glued the remaining cut off wig hair onto the buns in layers. Scoring helped the hair stick to the styrofoam without the use of much glue. I tied around the buns with some thin wire to define them in the wig a bit better.

I then airbrushed the whole wig with with a mix of blue/magenta/lilac/violet airbrush paint.
