About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The pattern was based off my previous jacket pattern drafted for Judau from Gundam ZZ, which only seems fitting considering the sequal-ness of Unicorn to that series and Char's Counter Attack. The only major changes were to add in the inlaid double-seams on the front, back, and sleeves. It was done with 1 actual cut (and reconstructed seam) and then one fake puckered embellishment seam that was parallel to it. The only top stitching is on the hems. I think the inlaid effort added a bit more dimension and really made those stupid lines pop OTL. Still, it was difficult to match the lines up along the sleeve, but somehow made it work! I also had to make this jacket slightly larger, to fit over a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt itself was purchased and dyed slightly yellow-brown with RIT dye, and the belt was simply added into the bottom by opening the hem a little. Haro is a simple and unaltered Nandemo 1/1 scale Haro purchased in 2009. I am no good with math, but I truly do wish to work for Anaheim Electronics LOL.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I'd been planning to do Banager to match Yafromuk and PrinceAli's Unicorn badassness from Fanime 2009, but wasn't able to actually hunker down and finish this until the amazing promotions for Otakon 2011 was announced. I got to work with ACP's staff and other cosplayers for the Unicorn promotion and everything was beautiful and nothing, absolutely nothing hurts~!! :D Somehow, my best and favorite con memories are Gundam related LOL. Teca and I also went to the HD screening at Otakon 2011.. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL T^T
