Construction Details:

Another dream costume that I've been collecting bits for! The kimono is worn with traditional kitsuke: no snaps or hooks anywhere! There's applique and beading all over the obi/bustier. The paper parasol is also hand painted with the panther design.

The big daddy is the wig. It's built like a hat: the 'wings' are a heavy buckram frame edged in millinery wire and covered with felt and wefted hair. Wig accessories are all sewn onto the wig and it's surprisingly light!
