About this Costume
Construction Details:
This costume was pretty much entirely thrift store finds, though I did a ton of alterations to make it work. The white over shirt had to have bust darts removed and was taken in and shortened and the pants were hemmed. The black turtleneck was the only thing I actually sewed from scratch. The hat started out completely white and was painted, and the bracelets were essentially thrown together the morning before I left for con. :B I'm kind of proud of my menger sponge though, as I was having trouble coming up with a good way of doing it. I ended up buying wooden cubes from Michael's and gluing them together to have the hole in the middle. :D I was planning to make shoe covers for maximum accuracy but I ran out of time. I also had a necklace, but it got left in the hotel room because I was in a rush. Whoops.
Personal Thoughts:
I love love LOVE N and I had been planning to cosplay him since the end of summer last year. Originally this was supposed to be for Aki-Con but I ran out of time. Funny enough, I almost ran out of time on this as well because I got tied up with other stuff (namely of the school variety). Ah well. I still managed to wear it for a couple hours at con which is good enough for me.

Styling Notes
Okay, I feel like I should mention wig styling with this costume because of how much of a pain it was. The wig is actually two wigs: a Wolf Base and Long Layer from Airily. I used the longer one as a base and partitioned out the ponytail and side bangs from it, then sewed the Wolf Base on top for the fluffy spikes and the rest of the bangs. I decided to do this instead of only having one long wig for the entire thing because I didn't want to lose any thickness the ponytail would have... and it's a hella thick ponytail. In the end I'm in love with the result, even if it's the most expensive wig I own now because of it.
