Construction Details:

The koi design on the front of the jacket is all embroidered via Embroidery Machine of doom though I had to put the design together myself and its not as simple as it sounds. Was the most time consuming embroidery project I've done so far. All pieces of the costume were constructed by me except the swords. Shirt and under jacket are poplin. Main jacket is the backside of casa satin due to it being the only fabric I could find the right color in and lined in kona cotton. Bias tape was all handmade.

Personal Thoughts:

I made this in less than a week! T_T; It was kinda painful lol but I love how it looks. And I've always wanted to cosplay a Shinsengumi so this made me rather excited as Okita Souji has always been my favorite (in all his various incarnations).

Styling Notes

My friend Ren styled the wig for me though the wig was pretty close to the right style to begin with. Just had to cut it a little shorter and make it more "flippy".
