Construction Details:

The entirety of the costume is made from silks; silk dupioni, silk velvet, habotai/china silk, and silk organza (for the interlining). Even though I hate the way it looks in flash photography I think it's very Victorian and very appropriate for the series. The black inserts for the box pleats in the frontand the butt bow in the back are made from a cotton quilted material that I hand beaded damask patterns with seed beeds (you can never see it). All the embroidery was hand dyed and all the beads were sewn onto there The cording has strings of seed beads in there as well that are hard to see. All my buttons were molded and made by me.

Personal Thoughts:

Pretty much this thing took too much time with all the pattern drafting, beading and detailing, but I love the effect. I told myself never again after my Kraehe cosplay..... LOL It's my style now, I guess. I've forgotten accuracy and pretty much just do what makes me happy. XD I've yet to run into anyone that doesn't like the artistic liberties I take with my stuff anyway.
