Construction Details:

The white kimono is made with the wrong side of satin, and the burgundy kimono is a much heavier fabric with a similar sheen, and has interfacing around the collar. The obi is also a type of satin, with yellow heat 'n' bonded to make the butterfly. The ties beneath the obi are leftover burgundy and pink blanket binding, and there's a generic gold silk rope tied around the outside of the obi.
The wings are paper, paint, and sharpie (just the black part) and are actually eight separate cutouts, mounted over straightened hanger wire attached to a square wood frame.
UPDATE: The wings are ALMOST DONE! 8D I just need to touch up some of the edges around the circles and half-moons, cover the whole thing with clear sealant, and then they'll be finished! x333

AAAAAAAH I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN THIS OUTFIT APPEARED IN XXXHOLIC AGAIN.
Yuuko wears it briefly when the Tsubasa gang is in Nihon, which is why I decided to do it in the first place. But then in the latest chapters of xXxHoLic when she appears in this came out and I nearly had a heart attack of happy.
So I learned never to fold something up in a bag and then wear it right away, because the wrinkles are so obvious. xD;;;
