About this Costume

Most of the costume is made out of satin. The top was made using a drafted pattern. The striped pattern was made with satin ribbon. The bottom consists of 3 parts - the top (flower) layer, the white ruffle skirt, and the petticoat. I used a pretty strong interface for the top layer so it won't drape as much. The blue trims around the edge were made out of the same fabric I used for the top. The petticoat was also made by me from scratch. The headdress was sewed together by hand because the gathered fabric was so thick that it wouldn't go through my sewing machine. The gloves were long opera gloves that I got from eBay. I cut the top portion off and used that to make the ruffles.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This is my favorite outfit out of Luka's wardrobe. It's one of her new outfits in Project DIVA 2nd. I fell in love with it when I saw her dancing in this dress. I knew I had to make this! Here's my reference video. This costume was debuted at Anime Boston 2011. Only a few people were able to identify my character as Luka. Most people thought I was cosplaying Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier "ORZ
