Construction Details:

I adore Kenshin and was literally jumping for the chance to cosplay him. Although I thoroughly love Kenshin when he is older, my heart honestly lies with his Battosai version. My favorite part about this costume actually can't be seen. But during his construction I wanted his costume to not only be functional but to be period appropriate. From my Civil War reenactment I was able to come across a sewing needle that is from the 1860's and used that to do all of the period hand sewing on his clothing. This is honestly one of my favorite cosplays of all time. :) With the bloody photos, I have always wanted to try and capture the scenes from Kenshin's past as he journey to find Tomoe. As a blood and gore specialist, I had way to much fun with the blood effects. All blood effects are hand made for the shoot and I think by the time we got done with the snow shots, over three gallons of special made liquid blood ended up on the snow while at least a liter of stage and permanent blood was used on the costumes.
