Construction Details:

I have to thank, firewolf826, as she did most of the patterning for these costumes. I was in charge of fabric & notions shopping, she drafted and design the pattern for the cloaks. Sadly my bodysuit is very unfinished underneath. However, it's still sleek looking regardless.

Personal Thoughts:

I had been talking with Lauren around September of 2010, whom had recently finished watching Last Exile. I had seen it a few years prior and had loved it. When asked ifI would want to form a Last Exile group with her, there were no questions about it. Everyone fell into their characters perfectly, each and every one of us had a character we wanted to be and the natural order of things came into place. Erin needed some convincing, but I knew she'd make a perfect Lucciola. And after watching the series, she agreed. This shoot was my first big group cosplay and I couldn't have had more fun with it.

I've always loved Dio's character. He was rather interesting for me, his cheeriness is addictive . But moreso than the costume itself, I was looking forward to getting to: a) cosplay with firewolf826 once more, and b) getting to cosplay with a group of friends with whom I had yet to cosplay with. I never though I'd ever get the chance to cosplay Dio, let alone in a group like this.

Styling Notes

I chopped off a majority of the hair to get it to the cut as seen. I left the one piece longer on the side to be braided. Then I sculpey'd his hair dangle and, after painting, hot glued the braid ends into the piece.
