About this Costume

If there's anything I'd do differently ever again with this costume- it's the fabric :< At the time, I was really tight on money and found a bolt of this pink fabric for free. In retrospect, I really dislike this fabric choice. If I had all the time in the world, I'd completely remake this costume with my patterns in a new fabric. Anyway...
This costume is completely patterned from scratch. The bodice is boned with spiral steel and has a base layer of corset grade coutil for strength. I had to dye the lace around the edges to match. There is a full hoop skirt with steel hoop boning that I made myself in a slanted style. Above the hoop skirt is a petticoat to add some more gentle lift to the skirts. My big bow in the back has a wire frame and is removable to sit and whatnot. I made my Chii ears out of paperclay. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the finished work. I just really am only not satisfied with my fabric. Oh well! - Personal Thoughts:
- This was one of my first legitimate 'dream' cosplays. I probably worked the most diligently on this costume than any other to date! I hope I can continue to cosplay more variations of Chii since she's somewhat of a muse to me.
