About this Costume
Construction Details:
The base unitard is from Discount Dance; it's a lycra blend so I was able to color it with RIT Dye. The pink fabric is just generic stretch knit from JoAnn's. Silver "armor" pieces are craft foam, green details are Fimo. The top is reinforced with both craft foam and poster board in order to help maintain a stiff shape. The gold pieces are piping filler cord put through gold fabric tubes. And finally the hand "gems" are made from Fimo air-dry clay because my oven died before the con and I wasn't able to make them from oven-bake clay. Pretty much everything on this costume was made from scratch without a pattern. If you want to know how I did anything specifically, just ask~!
Personal Thoughts:
This cosplay based on an artbook drawing of her - an alternate timeskip plug suit inspired by Darry's timeskip outfit. But personally I like to call it Super Space Adventure Time Galaxy Sparkles Nia. I'd originally wanted to do her default outfit, but in the end I didn't have enough time or money to do the resin casting for the gems. Plus I'd never seen this version done before, and I wanted to tackle the challenge of making a plug suit. It's a lot more ghetto than it looks, trust me, in all honesty I'm completely surprised it didn't fall apart by the end of the day! But overall I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I had a lot of fun wearing it! Like when I tripped going up the stairs and just said really loudly, "WHAT ARE STAIRS." I think I'm funny buuut I'm really not.

Styling Notes
The wig came mostly prestyled from Fantasy Sheep. All I did was style the bangs a little, and then sew the clay hair clips into the wig.
