Construction Details:

Pattern was drafted free hand and the the pleats were measured 1" deep with 3" spaces on the skirt with small half inch variances on the sleeves and bustle for artistic variation. The train was gathered into a french bustle (I just eyeballed it) and has about 9 gather spots. I hand beaded the bottom of the bustle with glass beads. The frames on the blue sleeve jewels were made with sculpy and a leaf pattern was pressed into it before baking. Two toned purple taffeta was used for the main dress with light pink silk trim. The bustle is dark blue silk with white taffeta trim and green glass beads. The jewels are resin cast and framed with sculpy. This dress took approximately a week to sew and is my second attempt at her dress. My first one was cotton and without a bustle, something I wanted desperately to amend once I learned how to gather them.
