About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The shirt and skirt were made using sateen. The decision was based on how stretchy the fabric was, but it was a bit too flimsy for the skirt. The shirt had boning and was my first time working with it! Really wasn't hard at all.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I'm really happy I decided to cosplay Catherine! I've always been a huge Persona/Atlus fan and fell in love with Catherine after seeing the steamy trailer, but I tend to avoid white-looking cosplays in fear of "ruining" the character. CeruleanDraco suggested Catherine to me one day on a whim and I just went for it. I got a lot of compliments on my Catherine (especially on the wig!) so it made me really happy!

- Styling Notes
- I started with a long blonde wig with long bangs. I slowly cut off 1-inch sections for the drills and worked on the short layers after finishing the drills.
The drills were made using glue and wire, a method I had come up with after doing a LOT of reading and thinking. I regret not making a tutorial, though. (Edit: I may make a tutorial, but since I didn't take photos with my Cathy wig, I'll have to simulate the motions with another wig!)
I cut the wig VERY slowly to get the short layers, and having a heat-stylable wig made it so much easier. I was able to use a straightener to get that flippy effect Cathy has.
