Construction Details:

I used dark browns instead of blacks to portray the gradation of the original drawing better (and I believe a full-black outfit would kill any sort of picture)

I based the shirt off of a Chinese shirt I had and elongated the sleeves for the "water sleeve" effect. The hat was based off of a Red Army hat. I originally wanted to make a button w/ the KMT seal but I ran out of time when a friend's dog ATE it so I used a gold button instead.

Peach is made from model magic and painted with water colors. Lantern was purchased in Taiwan by my mom and I attached it to an old cat toy rod.

Personal Thoughts:

SO COMFY! I need to sew in the hooks better though and to add snaps so the jacket doesn't keep popping open.

Something silly is that I had a long discussion with my mom about whether the characters for China was traditional or simplified Chinese (中國 vs 中国)
