Construction Details:

I thought Renton would be an easy costume and then it turned out to be a huge pain in the butt! D< I couldn't find a good pair of pants to modify so I ended up making them myself. It was my first time making pants with a zipper, cargo pockets and working with denim and I didn't have a good pattern to follow so I cluelessly worked my way through it. lol Then there was the fanny pack which I had no idea where to start. I drafted the pattern myself and even though it isn't 100% accurate I'm stoked I could do it and make it functional! Then I made the jacket which, of course, I had no idea what I was doing and ended up making it twice. The white is flannel and the red is fleece and it's lined in white cotton. The front pockets are real and so is the neck pocket-collar-zipper thing. The shoes were covered with interfacing and craft foam and are modified Walmart shoes!

Personal Thoughts:

I've wanted to do Renton since I saw my friend Dst as Holland. I really like Renton because he's such a loser and has absolutely no luck when it comes to life or Eureka. The costume itself is extremely comfortable since the jacket is so soft and I can carry all my junk around in a lame fanny pack. lol
