About this Costume
Construction Details:
Dress version #1 (because I plan to remake it at some point) was made of forest green sateen cotton with white stretch poplin for the collar and sleeve cuffs. The pattern used was a prairie style dress as I could not find a suitable pattern. I do not like this pattern at all. I followed it to the T and the waist came up too small. I had to redo the waist freehand, making it to fit my actual waist but also making it wider. The pattern called for long sleeves and floor length hem but those were easily altered.

The apron I am much happier with. It is made from white sateen cotton and an apron pattern that was modified just a little. I like the ruffle-ly sleeve straps. I love how the apron covers up the majority of the dress, including most of the aspects I don't like about it, yet doesn't completely overwhelm the dress.
Personal Thoughts:
One of my good friends Holley loves Hetalia and has always wanted to cosplay Hungary. I purchased a Hungary wig for another cosplay because it was the same color and style. It made me want to cosplay Hungary as well. But I also wanted to cosplay Taiwan at the same time. It was a simple guess at what Holley's answer would be when I asked if she wanted to cosplay them together.
