My second venture into One Piece cosplay, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm hooked and totally planning to do more One Piece ladies.
My friend Makyz has a super spot-on Crocodile cosplay, so he talked all of us into doing more One Piece cosplay so we could have a hefty (and kick-ass) group. I didn't wanna do Kalifa again since CP9 is pretty obscure and not cool to wear unless u have the whole gang going.
And then there was Bonney.
Jewelry Bonney.
There couldn't be a more perfect One Piece lady for me to cosplay. Why? Cuz she eats. A LOT. For this cosplay my prop is food. I can walk around stuffing my face and be perfectly in character :D
I custom dyed the shorts that particular shade of red, and of course painted on the stripes cuz you ain't gonna find striped shorts like that anywhere. Same goes for the stockings which were originally yellow tights on which I (painstakingly) drew the design on with fabric markers and sharpies. I found the perfect boots for a pretty cheap price and added frills to them.
EXTENDED HAT INFO: I used a St. Patrick's day hat I got at a party store, removed the trim, so you're only left with the round "head" part and covered the that in stretchy fabric. The party hat was fabric, so it could all be sewn together. The trim/rim was made with a piece of foamies cut to the shape, covered in fabric and adding a ribbon for the accent, then leaving enough extra to sew under the hat and put it all together. Tewibewi helped me adding on the trim and rimming which barely fit in the sewing machine.
My favorite part of this costume is the make-up. I love Bonney's pouty lips, and I'm sad not many girls that do this cosplay do her lipstick correctly. I also love the anti-eyebrow piercing, for which I used an earring glued on with spirit gum. Some people were tricked into thinking it's the real thing! - Personal Thoughts:
- I want to be the Best Bonney in the WORLD!
