Construction Details:

I love this dress, but it is heavy and a challenge to wear. I made the pink layer In a few pieces and gathered the bottom in a few places and added ribbon on the top. For the top part of the dress I added the white ruffles with the black ribbon, I made a choker with the same ruffles, and had some leftover striped fabric from another costume and stitched the flower on. I took many long strips of the same pink fabric to make the ruffles with darker pink ribbon and white ribbon sewed on, the same for the bow on the back. The white skirt underneath has two layers of ruffles with black ribbon and two spaced out layers of ruffles on the back side. I purchased a hoop skirt to go underneath the white skirt. The shoes I bought a few months before and I already had the gloves as well. The hat was built using a hat form and my friend GareBear helped hand stitch pieces together and the flowers on.
