Construction Details:

This was the first big project I ever undertook, and for something I made with little to no sewing background at the time, it managed to hold up beautifully for years. The pink lining and trim were made from a kimono I was given as a kid, so I learned how to make my own trim/bias tape through trial and error. The vest, bodice, scarves, gloves, jewelry, and cape are all hand-beaded and I can't even remember how many weeks it took to complete. The boots were something I was incredibly happy with, all covered in antique lace, foam/glue detailing, and gold leafing. And they hurt. A lot.

Personal Thoughts:

I loved this costume. I still love this costume. So many memories, experiences, friendships, and emotions are attached to it that nothing else I've made has ever managed to come close to. In 2008, Yoshitaka Amano was even kind enough to sign my vest and provide me with a personal sketch of Celes. I still plan to remake this entire costume soon with much better fabric and a lot of different techniques I wasn't able to use the first time around. But this particular version will always be my baby.
